Training @ Infosys
Transition of a Student to IT Professional
Part I :- The Beginning
I still remember that day when I got my First Placement 14th July 2007 at MAIT along with Vishal, Rohit , Ashish Chawla, Neha Sinha, Khera. Out of five who were waiting there for the results till 10:30 in the night four were finally selected. That’s a Different story altogether… No discussion on that incident.
The time flied away as I was preparing for the CAT and Other MBA Entrances. Before I could think of any thing else I was in the final semester of my engineering Then Results starts Pouring in and I Realized that I had failed miserably in the Tests. But Any thing That Happens in Your Life happens for Good. So taking that as the fate I Moved on further in my Life and looked forward to join Infosys. Soon we got our Training Location at Mysore and we all booked our tickets and preparations for the Journey began. But again the Twist in the story and our training locations were changed to The City Beautiful Chandigarh. Some of were happy and some were disappointed. But no other choice we made the necessary changes and look forward to the D-Day 23rd July 2007.
On 22nd july at around 7 A.M we left for the journey and bid Bye to our parents and parents and relatives who have come to see off us.We reached Chandigarh around 11 in the comfortable journey of A.C Chair Car and Clicking Photos and Listening Music. Then Moved to IT Park where the Infosys was situated. Soon after that couple of security checks happened as we were supposed not to bring any Electronic Items Data Cables Cds etc. At that point of time I wondered if Infosys has called the whole IP University as many faces seems to be familiar. After all Routine Checks we went inside the sprawling campus and gazed here and there in astonishment as the Chandigarh campus is one of the smallest campus that Infosys CMM Level 5 Company have. Soon all formalities were done and we were given room and room partners could be chosen with our own choices. I decided to share the room with Rohit and then began the real battle Survival of the fittest they call it.
Before Seeing the rooms I was little bit concerned as I have seen the pathetic rooms in my college but as soon as I entered the room I could not believe my eyes. The Room No 356 of me and Rohit and 359 of Chawla and vishal. The Rooms were equipped with every modern facility and were in comparison with a Five star hotel. Beds with side table, tea coffee maker with tea bags sugar milk powder etc ,29 inch Samsung color TV, Centralized AC system, Intercom with Local calling facility and Inter Dc too(within Infosys other centres), satin bed sheets ,cupboards, Table lamp Bathrooms with hot water and cold water facility, shower, shavers with shampoos, soaps, towels. They have given more than the things required for a person. With nothing to do on that day we watched TV on that day and went for lunch and dinner in the food court within Infosys.
